You can’t beat the beet for nutritional value.
Beets are nature’s simple, unassuming, deliciously sweet, deep dark ruby red, low fat delivery system for calcium, potassium, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and sugar with an earthy flavor and enough nutritional value to make them vital for our oral and overall health.
They are a colorful winter root vegetable that have become available all year in red, yellow, orange, white, and variegated. First documented in 8th Century BC, Mesopotamia, beets were used in folk medicine for the treatment of fevers and constipation in Ancient Greece and Medieval Europe.
As I wax poetic about the beet, I recall homemade bowls of borscht on my mother’s dining room table with dollops of sour cream in their middles. Pickled beets, beet juice, and beets in salads and curries are popular in America, South America, Europe, Eastern Europe, India, and some parts of Africa. [Read more →]

October is National Dental Hygiene Month.
Make an appointment to get your teeth examined and cleaned. Your dental hygienist will give you a new toothbrush and floss and another lesson in brushing and flossing.
Make an appointment for your kids and parents, too. And make your next appointment before leaving your dental professional’s office.
Keep smiling.

3 Reasons To Love Your Electric Toothbrush.
I had surgery on my left arm Tuesday and I’m left-handed. That is not an acceptable excuse to avoid brushing my teeth so I discovered 3 reasons to love my electric toothbrush.
1. You can use an electric toothbrush with either hand without getting hurt.
2. Your electric toothbrush does a good job even if you don’t feel well or you’re not in the mood.
3. Your electric toothbrush works when you don’t.
Leave a comment and tell me why you love your electric toothbrush.
Keep smiling

Why should you clean your toothbrush?
If you have gingivitis or periodontal disease, your toothbrush can transfer oral bacteria back into your mouth after every use. To avoid bacterial transfer, do this:
1. Dip your toothbrush into a small amount of undiluted Listerine after every use.
2. Buy a new toothbrush every 2-3 months.
3. Do not share your toothbrush.
Cleaning your toothbrush and replacing it on a regular basis will help keep your mouth free of bacteria.
It’s all connected.

Bad breath got you tongue-tied?
Bad breath is often caused by bacteria that remains on your tongue after brushing and flossing. The bacteria that causes problems inside the mouth is the same bacteria that causes heart attacks.
Removing bacteria from your tongue may prevent it from entering your bloodstream and promoting blood clots or damaging heart muscle tissue. Using a toothbrush to clean your tongue is ineffective. It only moves the debris around without removing it. I recommend using a tongue scraper.
Stumbling upon my blog, the people at Tung Brush contacted me and asked for my opinion of their product. They sent it to me, I tried it, and I continue to use it. This is my opinion. [Read more →]

2. Lack of sleep.
3. Anger and frustration.
4. Aggressive or hyperactive personalities
